Gertraud Gruber Opens
First Skin Spa in Munich
In the heart of Munich’s Haidhausen district, a new address for holistic beauty is taking shape. The heritage brand Gertraud Gruber Kosmetik is opening its first Skin Spa in the Bavarian capital—choosing a location with special symbolic meaning. The spa is located in the founder’s birthplace at Max-Weber-Platz in Munich, a place that carries history while opening a new chapter at the same time.
With the new Skin Spa, the brand is translating its decades-long philosophy into an urban setting for the first time. Between historic charm and modern lifestyle, a retreat is being created that combines calm, regeneration, and contemporary self-care. The atmosphere is intentionally minimal and warm—a space that offers distance from the hectic pace of city life while making the brand’s values tangible: naturalness, effectiveness, and a holistic view of beauty.
For more than 70 years, Gertraud Gruber Kosmetik has stood for an approach that is more relevant today than ever. Here, beauty is not understood as purely external care, but as the interplay of balance, well-being, and inner radiance. As early as 1955, Gertraud Gruber founded Europe’s first beauty farm at Lake Tegernsee, laying the foundation for a holistic beauty philosophy—long before terms such as self-care or wellness became part of a global lifestyle. Her perspective was clear: skincare should not only beautify but also strengthen—both physically and mentally.
With the Skin Spa in Munich, this philosophy now finds a new urban interpretation. What once began in the tranquil landscape of Lake Tegernsee is now being continued in the middle of the city. At the same time, the brand becomes accessible in a new way. As a traditional institute brand, its products are usually available exclusively through professional beauty institutes. At the Munich Skin Spa, guests can now discover the skincare line directly on site for the first time, receive personal consultations, and select products tailored to their individual needs.
The treatment menu is intentionally designed to be more than a classic list of cosmetic services. At its core are deeply effective facial treatments that hydrate, strengthen the skin’s structure, and enhance its natural radiance. These are complemented by regenerative rituals for body and senses, as well as relaxing massage add-ons that restore energy and support inner balance. Each treatment is individually tailored to the skin’s needs and performed by specially trained professional aestheticians.
The brand deliberately relies on the power of manual techniques. Device-based cosmetic treatments play no role in the concept. Instead, the focus lies on precise hand movements, experience, and a refined sensitivity to the skin. Each facial area is considered separately and treated specifically—cheeks, forehead, or nose receive exactly the active ingredients and care they need at that moment. The goal is not a quick effect, but a lasting feeling of regeneration and balance.
The expertise behind the treatments is also an essential part of the concept. The aestheticians have a solid professional education and will also receive additional training in the brand’s new training academy in the future. Precision, experience, and a holistic understanding of skincare form the foundation of every treatment.
With the new location at Max-Weber-Platz, Gertraud Gruber creates a place that makes the brand’s DNA tangible: warm, calm, and modern, yet deeply rooted in its own history. A spa that understands beauty not as surface, but as an expression of balance, vitality, and a conscious way of living—right in the middle of the city, yet far removed from everyday life.
